Another essay finished. I have two small pieces to go, and then I can start on the revisions for my first book (my published dissertation).
This morning, I went to the high school, where they recognized those students who made the honors society. Stephen was one of them! To be in the honors society, one must exhibit standards of excellence in their studies, in extra-curricular activities, and in community service. Congrats bud! I'm proud of you.
Michelle recently went to the ER. She is fine. She stabbed herself while trying to pit an avocado. The cut required a couple of stitches and a long wait in the ER. Apparently, a lot of people get hurt on Mondays. What we won't do for guacamole!
I finished the essay. Yay! Now I have to work on three other short essays, but I feel back on track.
Dell decided to take back my laptop, after having to replace two LCDs and a video card. The latest problem had to do with the plastic casing in which the monitor sits. It turns out that the "technician" was a little too rough and bent the case so that it is now slightly convex. This bend creates more pressure on the lower edges of the screen, exactly where I was getting the gray blotches. I had to get a little upset with the Dell rep., before he eventually received the OK from his supervisor to send me a new machine. Hopefully, I will have better luck with this next one.
