This post is coming a lot later than I thought. The meeting went very long (not because of my business), and then I rushed home and went to my softball game.
Ordination examination before Presbytery: SUSTAINED
Call to Seabury as my context of ministry: APPROVED
I am officially ready to be ordained. More specifics on the date for the ordination service to come (but it will likely be this Fall).
Oh, and my league team, the Cavemen, won the first softball game of the season 28-6.
Not a bad way to spend the day!
Tomorrow at about 1:00 p.m. or after, I will have my examination before Presbytery. After the exam, they will vote on my readiness for ordination. Later in the afternoon, they will vote on my call to Seabury. In other words: sometime tomorrow afternoon, should the vote be favorable, I will be cleared for ordination and ready to receive my call to Seabury as my context for ministry.
I will try to update my blog tomorrow in the early evening.
The Seabury Saints continued their winning ways yesterday. The Saints won 6-4. It was a defensive battle. The Saints got on the board early with three runs in the second inning. After that, the story was defense, defense, defense. Long Field is not a good playing surface for softball, which means that errors will be made. The Saints, however, got critical outs when they needed them.
We'll have to wait to see if the Saints maintain their #1 ranking.
Game Notes:
-Last Thursday's players of the game: Everyone who showed up. We won by forfeit.
-Yesterday's player of the game: I have to give it to Hope who made a great catch at 3B and added a hit.
-Ryan is one win away from getting his hair altered for graduation.
I would have posted my Easter sermon, but I preached from an outline. I preached about earthquakes and the non-choice of resurrection truth.
The resurrection is surely God's great miracle. Here's another truth that points to divine intervention:

If you still don't believe me, click on the "Seabury Saints" link on the power rankings page. Then click on "roster." There we are. Yes, it's true.
