Howl's Moving Castle

I have been working at home all week. It is very difficult, especially now that the kids are out of school. This past weekend, we saw a great little flick, called Howl’s Moving Castle by Hayao Miyazaki, the same person who brought us Spirited Away. We are big fans of Miyazaki, and HMC didn’t disappoint. The ending resolved rather quickly (I wonder how much was lost in the translation and English dubbing), but the real heart of this movie, like many of Miyazaki’s films, is in the friendships that develop between the different characters. It is definitely worth the price of admission. It is one of those movies that actually engages your imagination. A great movie! Not Miyazaki’s best, but definitely one of the better animated films of the year.

Some other Miyazaki films worth renting: Spirited Away (Academy Award Winner), My Neighbor Totoro (A great, great film), Princess Mononoke.
