In the spring of 1978 my wife Kathy and I and our two cats drove here from Cambridge, Massachusetts so that I could begin my work on the staff of Christ Church Cranbrook. Kathy is from nearby Toledo, so she was pretty familiar with the Detroit metro area, but being a Californian I was not, and so in the early months of my work here I did a number of things to try to get to know my new community better.

Seabury Sermons — Easter

At Seabury’s Easter Vigil, Ellen Wondra — Professor of Theology and Ethics — preached the sermon, and Dean Gary Hall presided at the service. The Vigil began at 5:15 in the Seabury Lounge, processed to a conclusion in the chapel, and was followed by a festive brunch in the refectory.

Seabury is a worshipping community and we hold several services per day. This is part of our formation process. All of our services are open to visitors and we hope that visitors will feel comfortable to join us in worship and identify themselves to the seminarians or faculty.
