Rich Towers Welcomed as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs

August 1st, The Rev. Rich Towers was welcomed to Seabury as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Rich will have primary responsibility for recruitment and admissions, in addition to overseeing the Academic Affairs Office. He brings a rich background in education and in parish and youth ministry, most recently in Guam, where he has been Vicar of St. John the Divine Episcopal Church and Chaplain at St. John the Divine School. His skills and experience as well as his energy and his excitement about Seabury will help build relationships and attract students to the seminary's academic programs.

Dormitory (includes full meal plan - 15 meals per week) $6,000

Books and Supplies $1,550

Student Body Fee $160

General Fee $560

Tuition and fees are paid on a quarterly basis at registration.

Financial Aid Overview
The fundamental purpose of financial aid at Seabury is to assist students who demonstrate need for financing their education. Seminary, like all graduate school, is expensive. The problem of financing a degree program is generally the student’s responsibility. In conjunction with the student’s resources, outside sources of support (including diocesan and parish aid), Seabury is committed to offering need-based aid to full-time students who demonstrate need.

Directions to Campus

Getting to Seabury by Car

From the North on I-94 East:
Exit right at Skokie Blvd (US 41 South) and continue to the intersection of Skokie and Lake Avenue (stoplight). Turn left (east) onto Lake and drive approximately 5 miles to the intersection of Lake and Sheridan Rd. (stoplight). Turn right (south) and continue as Sheridan curves (note one left turn). Drive to Garrett Place and turn right (west); then turn left directly into the campus.

Prospective Student Days

The faculty, staff, and students of Seabury invite prospective students to join them for Prospective Student Days. This program will allows those considering seminiaries to explore the curriculum, meet the faculty, and experience worship and student life at the seminary.

Prospective students learn how Seabury can empower them for ministry, address questions and concerns about choosing a seminary, and speak with spouses and children to find out about family life "on the block." It will allow all visitors to discover the wealth of resources available in Evanston and the greater Chicago area, and, most importantly, become a part of the community for a few days, and see how the people and experiences here can enable students to deepen the intellectual, spiritual, and practical dimensions of their participation in the mission of Jesus Christ.

Application Procedures

To request an Application Packet, call 800-275-8235 x 28

Application for admission to any program is made on the appropriate form provided by the Seminary. Requests for application materials or other admissions correspondence should be addressed to the Coordinator of Admissions, Academic Affairs Office. A non-refundable application fee of $25 ($40 for D.Min. in Preaching) must be submitted with the application forms; checks are payable to Seabury-Western Theological Seminary.
