How To Give
How to Make a Gift
Most donors make their gifts with cash (checks), credit cards or securities. Seabury's legal name is Seabury-Western Theological Seminary. That full name should be used in transferring securities, but checks made out simply to Seabury Seminary are also quite satisfactory. If you need information on transferring securities please call the Development Office.
Unrestricted contributions are most welcome for they allow the seminary to direct funds to areas of greatest need. Donors may choose to specify the use of their gifts, such as for scholarships or other programs, and should indicate that perference at the time the gift is made.
The Development Office makes every effort to acknowledge gifts within 24 hours of their receipt. By trustee resolution, all gifts of securities are sold by the seminary's broker immediately upon receipt, unless directed otherwise by the donor.. Proceeds from the sale of such securities may be delayed in reaching the seminary, and thus acknowledgements of those gifts may be similarly delayed.
Other Ways of Giving
There are other ways to make contributions to Seabury, including:
Establishing an endowment
Including Seabury in your will or estate plan
Transferring gifts of property or real estate
Making a gift that will provide income for life
Making gifts-in-kind
All gifts, or questions regarding them, should be sent to the Development Office, 2122 Sheridan Road, Evanston, Illinois, 60201.
