Welcome to the Seabury Institute

The Seabury Institute, created by Seabury-Western Theological Seminary in 1994, has grown steadily in stature and reputation to become the premier center for Congregational Studies in the Episcopal Church and a force for healthy, faithful change through it's consulting and training programs. Having established the first and largest Doctor of Ministry in Congregational Development program anywhere and with a network of energetic and visionary graduate consultants, The Seabury Institute welcomes all who care about the future of the church and its congregations.

The Seabury Institute is a network of leaders - students, graduates, staff, faculty who:

The Seabury Institute classroom is a laboratory where lay and ordained leaders and the faculty who teach them are all changed by their interaction with one another.

The Seabury Institute is a change agent in theological education, moving the field of congregational development into congregational missiology and eliciting new kinds of thinking as a result.

The Seabury Institute is an attitude—consistent across a variety of opinions and perspective-that techniques and programs for church growth and evangelism are only effective in the hands of growing and changing leaders.
