Dean's Message to our Donors

Gary Dean Hall

“My time at Seabury yielded many precious gifts – academic, spiritual and formative. It is the empowering Spirit of God’s love that I affirmed at Seabury which continues to sustain me in rich and varied ways.” The Rev. Janey Wilson, '06

The mission...

While Seabury-Western Theological Seminary is at a crossroads (Dean Hall's letter), we are still committed to continuing to fulfill our mission to develop empowered and empowering leaders for Christ's Church and God's mission in the world. We will also continue to be dedicated to learning in the service of God's mission. At its heart, Seabury will always be a school in service of the mission of God as proclaimed and enacted in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The church faces many challenges in the 21st century and needs faithful, imaginative clergy and lay leaders to face into those challenges. I believe we have a good opportunity to harness the unique combination of skills and affirmations here which will make us singularly effective at equipping students with a vision of the Gospel mission and with the leadership skills necessary to make that vision a reality.

I ask you to please pray and think about supporting the seminary in its current and future programs. In light of all the claims on our resources, your support of theological education is even more deeply appreciated. Help us to continue our work at Seabury today and far into the future.

This comes with all best wishes for God's blessings on your life and work.

Faithfully,

Gary Hall
