Coming to Campus

Getting to Seabury by Car: From the North on I-94 East: Exit right at Skokie Blvd (US 41 South) and continue to the intersection of Skokie and Lake Avenue (stoplight). Turn left (east) onto Lake and drive approximately 5 miles to the intersection of Lake and Sheridan Rd. (stoplight). Turn right (south) and continue as Sheridan curves (note one left turn). Drive to Garrett Place and turn right (west); then turn left directly into the campus.

From the Northwest Tollway: I-90 East: Exit onto I-294 North (Tri-State Tollway). Drive north on I-294 to the first Dempster Street exit (US 14 East). As you enter Dempster from the exit ramp, you will be heading east towards Evanston. Drive east on Dempster approximately 11 miles (through Park Ridge, Niles, Morton Grove, Skokie, and into Evanston) to the intersection of Dempster and Chicago Avenue (stoplight). Turn left (north) onto Chicago Avenue. After 7 blocks, Chicago Avenue merges with Sheridan Rd. (stoplight). Go straight (continuing north) onto Sheridan and drive 4 blocks (past Emerson, Foster, and Library, all intersecting Sheridan from the left) to Garrett Place. Turn left on Garrett Place and turn right into the campus parking lot.

From Downtown ("the Loop") and locations to the South and West: Enter I-94 West (which is joined with I-90 West through the Loop) and stay on I-94 West past the fork of I-90 and I-94, staying in the right lanes. Continue on I-94 West to the first Dempster Street exit. As you enter Dempster from the exit ramp, you will be heading east toward Evanston. Drive east on Dempster and turn left onto Chicago Avenue which merges with Sheridan Rd. (stoplight). Go straight (north) onto Sheridan Rd. and drive 4 blocks (past Emerson, Foster, and Library, all intersecting Sheridan from the left) to Garrett Place. Turn left on Garrett Place and turn directly into the campus parking lot.

Getting to Seabury by Taxi or Car from the Airports:

Taxis From Airports: Note: O'Hare Airport is the closest airport to Seabury.

From Midway: Seabury is 60-90 minutes from Midway. We recommend you call 303 Taxi (847-256-0303) as soon as you deplane. The taxi will be waiting for you about the time your retrieve your luggage. The fare is $49.00 per adult, plus tolls.

Direct shuttle service from Midway to Evanston is not available. We have found the shuttle fares from both airports are about the same as the taxi fares.

Driving from Midway: Turn left (north) onto Cicero. Drive 14 blocks to I-55 North. Enter I-55 North and drive 6 miles to I-94 West. Enter and stay on I-94 West past the I-90 and I-94 fork. Continue on I-94 West to the first Dempster Street exit. As you enter Dempster from the exit ramp, you will be heading east towards Evanston. Drive east on Dempster approximately 11 miles (through Park Ridge, Niles, Morton Grove, Skokie, and into Evanston) to the intersection of Dempster and Chicago Avenue (stoplight). Turn left (north) onto Chicago Avenue. After 7 blocks, Chicago Avenue merges with Sheridan Rd. (stoplight). Go straight (continuing north) onto Sheridan and drive 4 blocks (past Emerson, Foster, and Library, all intersecting Sheridan from the left) to Garrett Place. Turn left on Garrett Place and turn right into the campus parking lot.

From O'Hare: Seabury is 35-45 minutes from O'Hare. Chicago taxis are lined up at the airport.

Driving from O'Hare: Depart from the terminals east on I-94 to the I-294 North, exit Tri-State Tollway. Exit right onto the ramp I-294 North (50-cent toll) and drive north to the first Dempster St. exit (US 14 East). As you enter Dempster from the exit ramp, you will be heading east towards Evanston. Drive east on Dempster approximately 11 miles (through Park Ridge, Niles, Morton Grove, Skokie, and into Evanston) to the intersection of Dempster and Chicago Avenue (stoplight). Turn left (north) onto Chicago Avenue. After 7 blocks, Chicago Avenue merges with Sheridan Rd. (stoplight). Parking at Seabury

Parking can be challenging in the Evanston Northwestern University area. Street parking in the area is limited to two (2) hours and is strictly enforce.

Available Parking on the Seabury Block

There are a limited number of parking places on the Seabury Block. These spaces require a parking permit for staff, faculty, and student residents. If you are visiting, you may also park in an open space and then go to the Reception Desk to get a Visitor Parking Permit to place in the dashboard of your car. If there are no spaces available, please double park your car allowing for traffic flow through the lot and then give your keys to the receptionist in the lobby to allow your car to be moved if another car is blocked and needs to leave.

Another option is to obtain a parking pass at Garrett Evangelical Seminary which is directly across Sheridan Road from Seabury. The cost of the parking pass is $6.00 per day. Please obtain you pass by calling in advance to check for availability of space(s) in the gated parking lot. A daily log of available space in the lot is maintained and reservations requests are taken on a first come first served basis. Contact Kris.Squier@garrett.edu or phone Clinton E.
