Greetings from the Alumni/ae Association!
Not long ago, I had the privilege to worship in the Seabury chapel. It was the week after the term ended so there were a fairly small number of us at Eucharist that day. The liturgy stirred up remembrances in all my senses -- the fragrance and light of the candles, the singing of seasonal hymns, the touch of those gathered at the peace, the taste of the Bread and Wine.
I remembered so many of the times I have worshiped and studied in the chapel. I remembered my classmates, faculty and friends. I remembered the anxious moments, the joys, the tears and the sorrows and the laughter. Most of all I remembered how much Seabury has formed me in so very many ways.
As we go about our ministries each day, it is so easy to forget all those experiences that shaped us. Seabury has a special place in the life of our church and in each of us. It is important to remember.
I am so grateful for all of those experiences at Seabury. I am also honored and humbled to serve as the President of the Alumni/ae Association. Indeed, I see it as a servant ministry. I hope and pray that I can give back to the Seabury community some of all the abundance the community has given me.
Peace.
Gwynne
