Prospective Student Days

Spring Prospective Student Days are March 2-3, 2008!
Register for the Spring Prospective Student Days, March 2-3, 2008.
Schedule for Spring Prospective Student Days.
The faculty, staff, and students of Seabury invite prospective students to join them for Prospective Student Days. This program allows those considering seminaries to explore the curriculum, meet the faculty, and experience worship and student life at the seminary.
Prospective students learn how Seabury can empower them for ministry, address questions and concerns about choosing a seminary, and speak with spouses and children to find out about family life "on the block." It will allow all visitors to discover the wealth of resources available in Evanston and the greater Chicago area, and, most importantly, become a part of the community for a few days, and see how the people and experiences here can enable students to deepen the intellectual, spiritual, and practical dimensions of their participation in the mission of Jesus Christ.
Participants
"Prospective Student Days" are designed for adults who are considering a seminary education to prepare for lay or ordained ministry. We encourage spouses and partners to accompany prospective students, since they will become vital members of the seminary community. Although children are also important in our community, this event is not designed to accommodate children, except for infants. You and your children are welcome to visit Seabury at another time. Seabury will be pleased to provide housing and meals.
Accommodations
We welcome our guests for Prospective Student Days. Lodging and meals are provided by the seminary from Sunday evening through Tuesday afternoon. Lodging will be arranged either on campus or at the Evanston Best Western Hotel. There is no charge. We are not able to provide accommodations for Friday and/or Saturday.
Travel
Transportation to Evanston and back is the visitor's responsibility. A Seabury student will pick you up at the airport. O'Hare and Midway airports service Chicago. O'Hare is a 35 minute drive and Midway is 90 minutes away. If you choose to arrive by taxi, the cost is approximately $28 and $45 from O'Hare and Midway respectively. Please let us know your travel plans as soon as possible.
Official Interviews
Those who are planning to enter seminary in Fall 2008-2009 and who have previously filed formal applications, may request that an official interview be scheduled. It is necessary to schedule an appointment prior to visiting, and to do this, completed applications with all transcripts and references must be on file in the Admissions Office by Feb. 15. To allow enough time for official interviews and other appointments, applicants are encouraged to stay through Tuesday afternoon.
