Seabury Gives Faculty Notice, Cuts Staff
April 24, 2008
The Trustees of Seabury-Western Theological Seminary today declared that the Episcopal Seminary “is in (a state of) financial crisis that threatens survival of the institution” and has given notice to all faculty that employment will end on June 30, 2009. The school also eliminated nine staff positions. The final date of employment for most of these staff will be May 23 – a week after graduation and the school’s 150th anniversary celebrations. More>

Update about Seabury's 150th Anniversary
On Thursday, May 15th, the Seabury community will celebrate our past, our present and our future. Starting at 4 p.m. on Thursday and running through Friday afternoon, the library, classrooms, Chapel, and Refectory will be open to welcome alumni/ae and friends to visit, reminisce and share stories and memories. Transitions: Art of Process and Evolution
A Group Exhibition curated by Tyrone Fowlkes - May 12 through June 13
Opening Reception: Thursday, May 15, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Transitions: Art of Process and Evolution investigates the passage from one state to another, reflecting the provocative work of seven artists. Through painting, drawing, photography and collage, Janice Elkins, Robert Epley, Juarez Hawkins, Katherine Perryman, Lindsey Newman, Tom Stella and travis consider perceptions of identity, values and priorities held in the tension of personal piety and public discourse. Transitions captures the intensity of struggle and change offering mysterious and sometimes stark views of reality. Hours: Monday-Thursday 9:00-4:00, Friday 9:00-12:30. Saturday by appointment (847.328.9300 X 22). Free and open to the public.
